LAMKAT, also known as Kat Lam, is a multi-disciplinary artist specializing in abstract geometric designs across various media formats. Born to immigrant parents in Texas as a first-generation Chinese American, Kat draws inspiration from textures, colors, patterns, and shapes found in both Chinese and American textiles, calligraphy, ceramics, woodwork, and other artisanal objects.
From a young age, she developed a profound appreciation for the power of perception. Kat channels this understanding by using practical items and information, such as hand tools and mathematics, to create dynamic, abstract pieces, offering viewers a fresh perspective. Her work explores a wide range of subjects through contemporary abstractions, challenging conventional mural placements.
By presenting diverse themes on multiple surfaces, Kat creates an immersive experience, enveloping viewers with her luminous creations and transforming ordinary spaces into vibrant canvases. Committed to fostering vibrant and welcoming spaces through her murals, Kat enriches communities worldwide.
